My interests are varied and I do like kicking back at home too. On a Friday or Saturday night I'd like to be at some funky little place in Manhattan. I'm down to earth and spiritual, and enjoy beauty and pleasure whether it's natural or manmade, and enjoy visually, acoustically, tactile or otherwise, whether it's routine, cool, weird, different, ancient or avant-garde…it's all good. My musical tastes vary with my mood. I grew up on Motown, R&B, the Beatles, & assorted Rock, Folk & Blues (Jackson Browne, Doors, Jethro Tull, Led Zep, Joni Mitchell, Police Pretenders, Linda Ronstadt, Springsteen, Stones, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkle, U2, the Who)...danced to punk & new wave (Blondie, Elvis Costello)...developed an appreciation for jazz (Coltrane, Davis, Monk, Shorter) and classical (a former Avery Fisher Hall regular)...while nurturing a love for grunge (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden)...explored other world beats like Reggae, heard Ziggy Marley in the Keys, Bossa Nova (that's the Brazilian in me), and Middle Eastern (in me too!)...frequently turn to female vocalists (Tori Amos, Basia, Tracy Chapman, Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt)...lately have been filling in empty sound with recently acquired Carole King or Mazzy Star LPs at home or whatever is on NPR, WBGO orXM while driving.
